There is a great quote from Dita Von Teese that goes “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there will always be somebody who doesn’t like peaches”.
What a concept. To me fitting in has been a semi ongoing struggle, and being okay with the thought that someone doesn’t like me is an even bigger battle. Why do we base our self worth and value on other people liking us? I don’t understand why people let others opinions of them effect them so much.
My newly adopted life motto is ” you can’t please everybody”. If you struggle day in an day out to be accepted and to please the entire world, you’re going to fail. You can’t physically please everyone. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, someone out there isn’t gonna like you, or enjoy what you did, or even think you’re great.
We as a society get so butt hurt when people don’t like us, and in reality WHO CARES. Stop putting your happiness in the hands of other people’s opinions of you. You’re going to fail and you’re going to end up being miserable. So whether you’re a peach or and apple or even a Big Mac, be happy with yourself and stop depending on others for validation of how good you are. If you know you’re a good person and nice, then that’s all that matters. The people who truly have your beat interest At heart will accept you no matter what you do, or who you are. Find those people and hold on. Pretty soon you’ll be surrounded by an orchard of peaches.
