Being A Decent Human

Recently I’ve been noticing how cruel the world is, but not just the world, the people in it. Not theoretical people over there or those people. People here in your own town, on your street, or in your apartment complex. People in general seem to just not be nice anymore. It is sad when more people seem miserable and cynical, them happy and polite.

Call me naïve, but I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I assume everyone is just as kind hearted and nice as I try to be, but they are not. Some people seem to truely be cynical, rude, and just plain not nice. I’m not sure what got them to that point but it is truely sad to see. What happened in your life that made you this way? What made you see the bad in the world instead of the good?! Truely nice people are a dime a dozen in today’s world.

People who seem nice, usually are for selfish reasons. Like “look what I did, I’m so nice. Praise me.” You shouldn’t be praised for doing the humanly thing. Like a little kid who wants a treat for doing what he is suppose to do, like behaving. That’s not how it works.

You should want to be nice and decent, because one day you may be in reversed rolls. One day you may just need someone to buy your coffee at Starbucks. You may need someone, anyone, to strike up a conversation with you because you’re alone. You never know what an impact you can have on someone’s day, by being nice.

So I challenge you to try and be nice. Buy a coffee, open the door for someone, or compliment the waitresses hair. What does it hurt you? You doing something for someone can start a chain reaction, where they doing something nice for someone and so on.

JUST BE NICE PEOPLE.
